Childhood Immunizations
At Thrive Center for Health we support childhood immunizations. However, we also understand that you may have questions and concerns about vaccinations. Our goal is to help you understand the risks and the benefits of immunizations, so that we can work together in the best interest of your child. Please feel free to discuss your questions with us.

Connecticut public schools mandate full vaccinations as well as yearly influenza vaccines (for those in preschool and daycare). We cannot, ethically and legally, provide medical exemption letters for vaccinations unless medically warranted. Medical indications for exemptions include severe or anaphylactic reaction to a specific vaccination, permanent neurological deterioration after a vaccine with documentation, compromised immune status or severe egg allergy (i.e. for influenza vaccine).

All of the vaccines that we carry at Thrive Center for Health are the safest formulations currently available on the market, in our best judgement. Lara O’Neil is a contracted CVP (Connecticut Vaccine provider). We can provide non-mandatory vaccines such as rotavirus and human papillomavirus (HPV). If you are interested in these vaccines, please discuss with us.

Understand that little or no research has been published regarding the efficacy and safety of any alternative vaccine schedule. Provision of alternative schedules is not an endorsement of any specific plan for your child. The CDC/AAP approved schedule is the U.S. standard of care. You can find the recommended childhood vaccine schedule at https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/downloads/child/0-18yrs-child-combined-schedule.pdf

We know that you want to make the best choices for your children and we believe that the best choice is an informed choice.
