Holisitic Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum Care

Sometimes couples need guidance and support to achieve a healthy pregnancy.  Other couples are able to achieve pregnancy easily.  Even when pregnancy comes easily it is important for patients to understand that there are ways to optimize their health and their growing baby’s health.  This is most effective when done even before the couple conceives.

Preconception Care

This is the epitome of preventative health care for future generations.  By optimizing the health of mom and dad a few months prior to conception, the egg and sperm that will go on to make their baby are at their healthiest.  With growing rates of allergies, autism and developmental challenges in our youngest generations, high quality preconception care can start to shift that.  In addition, this program is a great option for women coming off of birth control looking to regulate their natural cycle.

Pregnancy Support

Once a woman has the gift of growing and nurturing a new life, her body begins to change. With so much confusing information, having a knowledgeable practitioner that can educate what is safe during pregnancy is important. Natural treatments can be safe and effective and utilized to ease this transition and any hiccups that might come along the way. This is especially important during pregnancy because everything in or on your body has the potential to impact your growing baby.   Gentle therapies to palliate are a great alternative to medications during this time.  Common complaints are heartburn, constipation, hemorrhoids, difficulty sleeping, morning sickness and back pain.  We always work along side your OBGYN or midwife.

Postpartum Support

Stepping into the role as a mother of a new baby can be one of the biggest transitions a woman experiences.  With less doctors visits and more time at home, women don’t always receive the care and support they need.  It is also common for women to share less about the issues they are facing.  This creates a separation between the new mom and the support system she needs.  This is about providing the woman with physical, mental and emotional support.  Whether that is recovering from delivery, finding her place of emotional balance, improving the breastfeeding experience or the nutritional status of the mom and baby, there are many ways natural medicine can be utilized that are both safe and effective.
